Scientifc Research
Scientific research in the protected area of North of Western Gorj will be targeted, if possible, to protect and conserve species and habitats of community interest for which the site was declared.
The scientific research activity on the SCI North of Western Gorj is being held only with the Administration’s notice. Themes of scientific research on the scientific reserve territory is endorsed by the Romanian Academy, following that the Administration to be notified.
Any studies that plans the activities to exploit the natural researches on the social community interest site, such as are the studies that plans forestry, agricultural, livestock, tourism, hydrological, geological, etc activities, any projects that plans constructions of any caind, sports activities etc are endorsed obligatory by the designers who are notified by the Administration. The notify is absolutely necessary to verify the classification of activities planned by the studies or projects mentioned above in the provisions of protected area management plan of Western North Gorj.
The Administration of protected area North of Western Gorj sets the neccesary measures to prevent deliberate or accidental destruction of strictly protected flora and fauna species and of natural habitats from the site area.
The ecological reconstruction of damaged habitats will be done based on a scientific study endorsed by the Scientific Council. During the ecological reconstruction project the areas that make the object of reconstruction will be managed by the Administration.
Also, the Administration can support from its own funds the scientific activity research and the dissemination.
Complex research conducted between 1955 and 90s had surprised paleolotic cave habitat from Cioarei ‘s Crow is the oldest in the country with a clear stratigraphical situation, with the richest collection of lithic tools from a settlement and interesting cave palaeolithic art testimonials in our country .
